Huntsville lots we stripe
Cummings Research Park is full of office and engineering campuses with big employee lots that fill up every workday. The University of Alabama in Huntsville sits next to it, with student and staff parking. Huntsville Hospital and the medical offices around it have busy lots with a lot of accessible parking. On these sites, clear stalls, arrows and crosswalks keep the morning rush and the five o'clock exit moving.
The city also has newer retail areas like Bridge Street Town Centre and plenty of strip centers, restaurants and big box stores. Fast growth means new churches, schools and apartment complexes, plus warehouses and plants that need lane and bay lines and yellow safety lines inside. New lots need a layout from scratch. Older lots often need one redone.

Weather and wear in north Alabama
North Alabama has hot, humid summers, plenty of rain, and colder winters than the Gulf Coast. Sun fades paint and heat softens asphalt in summer, and freezing and thawing opens cracks in older pavement in winter. Lines wear fastest at entrances and drive lanes. Office lots that fill and empty at the same times every day take a beating in the same spots.
We stripe on dry pavement in decent temperatures so the paint sets right. On sealed lots we wait until the sealer is ready. Where cracks, potholes or broken edges run under the lines, we can do minor asphalt and concrete repair first. That keeps new paint from sitting on spots that are about to fail.
Alabama fire code and ADA in Huntsville
The Alabama State Fire Marshal has adopted the 2021 International Fire Code, including Appendix D on fire apparatus access roads. Under the IFC, fire apparatus access roads generally need at least 20 feet of clear width and can require NO PARKING FIRE LANE signs or markings. Huntsville also adopts codes by city ordinance, so check with Huntsville Fire and Rescue on your site.
Accessible parking follows the 2010 ADA Standards. Each accessible stall needs a marked access aisle at least 60 inches wide, and at least one of every six accessible stalls must be van accessible. Stalls and aisles cannot slope more than 1:48, and signs go at least 60 inches high to the bottom. We lay out the stalls, paint the symbol and stripe the aisle.
