Retail, event and warehouse lots
Southaven's retail lots take a beating. Outlet and shopping center lots see heavy traffic every weekend, with cars cutting across stalls and circling for spaces. Clear drive lanes, arrows, crosswalks and stop bars help keep it moving. Event lots like the Landers Center fill and empty all at once, so the layout has to handle a rush in both directions.
DeSoto County is also a freight county, close to Memphis and the interstates. Warehouses and distribution buildings need more than a parking lot. Inside, we stripe lane and bay lines on the concrete floor so forklifts and foot traffic stay where they belong. Outside, there are truck courts, trailer stalls and yellow safety lines along docks and walkways. We do that work too.

What wears out a Southaven lot
North Mississippi gets hot summers and plenty of rain, with some freezes in winter. Sun fades paint. Water gets into cracks and freezing opens them wider. Heavy trucks and turning cars grind lines off the high-traffic lanes first. Most busy retail lots need restriping more often than an office lot that sits quiet half the week.
Sealcoating is the other big reason to restripe. Once a lot is sealed, the old lines are gone and the whole layout has to be marked again. We paint after the sealer has cured. If there are broken spots or potholes where lines will go, we can handle minor asphalt and concrete repair first so the paint has a solid base.
ADA and fire lane rules
When a business restripes, the Department of Justice says it must provide accessible spaces as required by the 2010 ADA Standards. The number of accessible stalls depends on the lot size, and at least one in six must be van accessible. Each needs a marked access aisle and a sign with the bottom at least 60 inches above the ground. Big retail lots often need several.
Mississippi's State Fire Marshal adopted the 2024 International Fire Code as of July 1, 2024, and cities can enforce their own fire code if it is at least as strict. Fire lane color and wording are often set locally. Before you add or move a fire lane in Southaven, check with the city's fire department and planning office. We stripe to what they require.
