Dirt work in north Sunflower County
The land between Drew and Parchman, which sits about 8 miles north, is flat Delta farmland. Flat ground looks easy until it rains. On heavy clay, a house pad or shop pad has to be built up with fill and shaped so water runs off, not under. We haul fill in, spread it and shape it, and we use a laser level on yard grading so the slope is right.
Old homesites, fence rows and ditch banks around Drew grow up in brush and trees. B&M clears them out with a tracked skid steer and forestry mulching head, or pushes timber up in windrows on bigger tracts. If you need a pond or a dirt pit, we bring the excavator and dump truck. We also cut lanes and trails through wooded ground wide enough for a truck and trailer.

Lot striping in Drew
Drew has school lots at A. W. James Elementary and Drew Hunter Middle School, the Mississippi Delta Community College Drew Center, the Drew Public Library, churches and small businesses along US 49W. A small lot still needs clear stalls and a marked accessible space. Straight Line Services stripes lots of all sizes on new or sealed asphalt, and we can fix small cracks and holes first so the lot is ready for paint.
Even the smallest lot has ADA rules. A lot with 1 to 25 spaces needs at least one accessible space, and for lots with 1 to 4 spaces that one space has to be van accessible. The access aisle has to be marked so drivers do not park in it, and it runs the full length of the stall. We lay out the stall, paint the symbol and stripe the aisle.
Before work starts in Drew
For work inside Drew city limits, check with Drew City Hall about permits before anything is built or moved. Outside city limits, check with Sunflower County in Indianola. Rules depend on the project, so it is worth a phone call. We can talk through what you are planning and what questions to ask.
Some steps apply everywhere in Mississippi. Nobody should dig until 811 has been notified so buried utilities get marked. Clearing or grading that disturbs an acre or more falls under MDEQ construction stormwater rules. If you plan to burn brush piles, check local ordinances, MDEQ open burning guidelines and whether the county is under a burn ban.
