Hill ground and timber around Grenada Lake
Grenada Lake's dam sits about 3 miles northeast of town, on the Yalobusha River, and the lake covers about 35,000 acres in recreation season. Hugh White State Park is on the lake. Malmaison WMA reaches into Grenada, Carroll and Leflore counties. Around all of that is wooded hill ground used for hunting, cabins and homesites. B&M cuts lanes and trails wide enough for a truck and trailer, and clears tracts with the timber pushed into windrows.
On hill ground, select clearing often makes more sense than clearing flat. We take out the brush and the trees you do not want and leave the good ones, which also helps hold a slope. When you clear and grade on a hill, water moves faster and takes dirt with it. We grade pads, drives and building sites so water runs where you want it, and we use a laser level on yard grading.

Plants, lots and floors in Grenada
Grenada is an industrial town. Milwaukee Tool announced a major Grenada expansion in 2022 with 800 new jobs, and the Grenada Business and Technology Park North got state grant money for site work. Plants need lines inside and out. Straight Line Services stripes warehouse floors with lane and bay lines on concrete, paints yellow safety lines along walkways, and stripes the parking lots outside.
Town also has UMMC Grenada, the Holmes Community College Grenada campus, Grenada School District schools, churches and stores along the I-55 exits. We stripe new or sealed asphalt, draw up traffic layouts and mark fire lanes and no-parking zones. ADA rules set the accessible count: a lot with 151 to 200 spaces needs at least six accessible spaces, and one of every six must be van accessible.
Permits in Grenada
Inside the City of Grenada, the Planning and Zoning Department issues building permits, and the Code Enforcement Department handles inspections. If your project is inside city limits, start with Planning and Zoning. Outside town, check with Grenada County. Land near the lake may also involve the Corps of Engineers, so ask before you clear near government property.
Mississippi law requires notifying 811 before excavation. MDEQ construction stormwater rules apply when a job disturbs 1 acre or more, with one permit for 1 to less than 5 acres and another for 5 acres or more. If you plan to burn brush piles, check local ordinances, MDEQ open burning guidelines and whether a burn ban is on.
