Start with a conversation
Every demolition job is different, so we start by talking. What is the structure? How big, what is it built of, and how close is it to other buildings, trees or the road? Should the slab, driveway or foundation stay or go? Are there trees you want saved? Where should the debris end up? Photos sent with the form help a lot.
After that, we come look when needed and give you a free estimate before anything comes down. Because we also clear land, haul and spread fill, and grade, the job does not have to stop when the building is gone. We can clear the brush around it, fill in the low spots and leave the lot ready for a new house, a garden or a sale sign.

City permits in Cleveland
Inside city limits, demolition goes through Cleveland's Department of Community Development at 207 E Carpenter Street. The department says almost any work done in the city requires a permit before it starts, and it offers a demolition permit application. Call them at 662-843-4601 to find out what your project needs before work begins.
Outside the city, check with Bolivar County. Either way, gas, power, water and sewer need to be shut off and disconnected by the utilities before a structure comes down. If foundations, footings or slabs will be dug out, Mississippi 811 must be notified at least two working days ahead so buried lines get marked.
Asbestos and burning rules
MDEQ requires owners and operators to have a building inspected for asbestos before demolition, using MDEQ-certified inspectors, and to notify MDEQ 10 working days before demolition. Individual homes with four or fewer units are generally exempt, unless the job is part of a larger project with several buildings or includes non-residential buildings. Commercial buildings, churches and old schools are not exempt.
Burning is not a way to get rid of a house. MDEQ's open burning rules prohibit burning residential structures, and they bar demolishing a residential structure by burning when asbestos is present. Debris generally has to be hauled to a permitted disposal site. We talk through the plan for debris as part of the estimate.
